THE COMMUNITY
Encouraged to be active members in the community, Nanbo’s staff of dedicated professionals have volunteered to support various community events such as islandwide cleanups and local 5K races. Two of Nanbo’s past presidents have served as president of the Japan Club of Guam and, in 2012, a Nanbo team member was nominated for the Reina A. Leddy Guam Young Professional of the Year award.
Since 1968, Nanbo has made donations to various not-for-profit and community organizations and events such as Kamalen Karidat, Boy Scouts of America, the Tarakito Swim Club, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the Angel Tree Ministry and the Japan Autumn Festival. NANBO has also supported relief efforts for natural disasters that have affected the region -- the 2011 Japan earthquake & tsunami and Typhoon Soudelor in Saipan in 2015.
In 2018, Nanbo was named Guam Business Hall of Fame – 2018 Business Laureate by the Guam Chamber of Commerce. Nanbo was recognized for its leadership in the business and industry and for its contributions to the community.
